Let’s start with one of the Stephen Covey’s story
Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work.
The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.
“Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!”

Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.

“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked.

“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”

Now we Starts our dialougs from her, Ask yourself first what was the last date when you sharpened your skills?

Most of us don’t know about this, why because we are too much busy in something that is not more relevant to the career. You may be struggling for job or you have job but not getting promotion etc. but ever we thought from this perspective that may be our skills are not that up to date to compete with others, no most of us don’t think so.
And there is reason behind it what I found maximum of us are taking our skills for granted as they think one has done it in college or training and now doesn’t need to practice it again.

But it is a myth fact that we need to sharpen our skills every day ,if you read the above story you will find the reason why you should do that, I know we all try our best and we do lots of hard work to achieve something but your skills needs up gradation and updating is very essential in career.
Now take a move to our title importance of training and practice in students or job seeker’s life.
Now what is the meaning of training?

If you will Google it the first definition will be-
The action of teaching a person or animal a particular skill or type of behavior.
It’s true so now if you are a student and you want to start your career or you are job seeker and looking for a job then you have to learn new technical and personal skills, why I am saying new because in every field today everything is changing rapidly new technologies are coming, new techniques are in market so you should prepare yourself according to the market needs of your field.

That’s why training play an essential role in any Student’s life, next is practice do the same Google it and you will see in very first.

“Perform (an activity) or exercise (a skill) repeatedly or regularly in order to acquire, improve or maintain proficiency in it.”

It’s also a fact that only training is 50% percent and rest 50% is your practice and both makes you perfect for your field of interest. Practice is all about your individual efforts to be master in any technical or personal skill.

So now, what is the conclusion of this blog “Does it better will always beat did it first”?
Answer is, if you want to stand out of the crowd you need to make yourself better and better compare to last day and you have to sharpen your Skills, upgrade and then update yourself.
